Anybody know what a Mate Study is?

I use some of the Convecta training modules and you can see what courses are available within the software. One of the modules is called “Mate Study” with an estimated 1600 to 2550 level range. I used to solve compositions occasionally, which in my opinion can be extremely hard. -I rarely try and solve compositions anymore due to the fact the software I was using has long been discontinued from the Google Play Store, having used it a couple phones ago.

Do you think that “Mate Study” might be a collection of chess compositions, but curated for different skill levels starting around 1600?

I found some screenshots of the module. They’re not chess compositions and don’t seem to be mate-in-X either. The screenshots weren’t overly clear on what was going on in the module, but I suspect its how to set up potential mating patterns from various types of positions and chess patterns.
