Maximum number of rounds in a tournament upload file

The internal limit in the programming is 32 rounds in an event, which sounded like a very large number in 2005, especially since at the time that program was developed the largest upload file that either WinTD or SwisSys could create was, I believe, 14 rounds.

There has been a report of someone having problems uploading a 22 round event. (Odds are pretty good it is a Blitz event.) I don’t have the files to test with (yet), so I don’t know if this is a problem with the upload routine or something else.

I think Tom Doan has said that recent versions of WinTD have a higher limit now, but I don’t have a copy of WinTD to test with. If someone who has WinTD wants to try to generate an event with more than 20 rounds (up to 32) and send me the 3 DBF files (ZIP them to avoid corruption in email), I would appreciate it.

I would have expected the makers of all major TD software to have provided the USCF free copies for testing, just to reduce the chances that the USCF won’t make changes that inadvertently break things and generate support calls to the software maker.
