Does the membership submission shop online (secure.uschess.org/webstore/tou … &mode.y=11) automatically output a membership number so that the person just registered can be submitted into rating reports normally? Is there a way to do that? I had a little difficulty creating new members through the TD-area and submitting the tournament online with the new members.

Yes, the online webstore will issue a new membership ID along with the credit card receipt. It will even display a temporary membership card that the member can print.
MSA will have that ID within a few hours, too.
One of my goals is to make the webstore membership interface available to TDs through TD/A, with affiliate commissions. That’s about 5th on the project list right now, though.

I just renewed my membership using the TD/Affiliate area and found it to be pretty straightforward, though not as easy as the webstore. My expiration date was updated online within 3 minutes.
The membership module in TD/A takes a bit of getting used to.
Perhaps what we need are some TDs willing to mentor other TDs through the process, either by phone or e-mail.
