Any chance for subforums grouped geographically? States, regions, etc. I’m not really interested in chess clubs in 90% of the country and would rather not try to parse the whole forum.
Many of the posts in this forum concern the mechanics of how to run a chess club and are therefore, for the most part, independent of where you happen to be located. If your goal is to find a club near you, your best bet is to look in the “Clubs & Tourneys” section (see the main menu), where listings are grouped geographically.

Nope, my goal is to see how the clubs around me are doing before getting dragged into the drama. Last one was a lot of fun
See whether your state affiliate has a forum.
I agree with the original post and I also suggest that some one organize these forums as well. For example, I wish there was sections for chess clubs by region, chess tournament rules, chess databases, chess training websites, chess playing websites, chess engines, etc, etc…
You’re being sarcastic, right? I can’t tell.
Considering that the last fifty posts to this subforum (one page of posts) goes back to March 2009, MVHO is I don’t think there’s too much information or enough activity here to warrant further subfora creation.
Historically, this subforum hasn’t been used a whole lot for individual club or area promotion. As Keith suggested, that’s really more what state affiliate forums (for those that have them) do. At least in our state.
(As to other stuff… well, “If you build it they will come,” doesn’t work so well for subfora creation in my experience. If something really reaches a critical mass (multiple topics on a subject), that’s when you split. I’d rather see one semi-active forum than ten fora that haven’t had a post for two years.)
