Play Chess

I would like to know if there is a members board here for members to post individual challenges for local area play. Local clubs (usually) don’t have such boards and besides meet only 1-2 hours per week for play. My schedule simply doesn’t allow me to play then or even tourney play. I would simply like to play across the board. I am not into the other forms of chess such as internet, computer, or corresspodance. I’ve suggested a borad for the USCF to accommate its member in this area. If anyone knows of any clubs or where to post…let me know.

We don’t have a place for those requests at this time.

Generally speaking, that’s more of a local/state function. Have you tried the online club directory or your state association?

Yes Nolan I have. I doubt there will be a solution here. Thanks for the idea. But I also think it important the USCF understand there exists a signicicant untapped market state associations simply aren’t equiped to deal with. It is up to the USCF in it leadship role to take the lead here. They must decied if they have or do not have the capibity to bring players together. Whether we as members wish to admit it or not, it is a problem. I would like to see the USCF grow and prosper and at the same time be more inculsive for people like me. Wondering if anyone else thinks like I do…

I don’t think the BB software running this forum is intended to support something like that, and there is also a liability issue to be concerned about.

I know of more than one website that has pulled a ‘one-on-one contact’ feature because of concerns over stalking, sexual predators, etc.

That means that our policymakers first need to consider the situation and we would need to look for an appropriate sofware vehicle for it.

dtrake,

What some people do is to locate a tournament director (chess club, etc) who will turn in the results of your rated games that are played in private. I know of many players who hold matches in fast food restaurants, etc, and then turn in the results to the Tournament Director.
