Paper Crosstables

Is there some reason why the USCF has suddenly started sending bunches of old crosstables to tds/affiliates? For me these include some that I submitted on-line and some which were probably mailed on disk by another td for our affiliate. I’m not sure if we accidentally set the bit to td or affiliate instead on none (I’m not sure what the default for tnmtadmt and swissys are), but I definitely didn’t pay the extra money for the crosstable (and don’t need it since it is on-line months before I got these). Does the on-line processing reset the crosstable setting to none if no payments are made?

We just recently regained the ability to print crosstables of events, so we were catching up.

However, we discovered in late April that the procedures we were using to log in events didn’t always accurately indicate whether a crosstable had been ordered and paid for.

That process has been changed so that more recent events should be coded accurately. However, we had a number of events from February-April where it wasn’t clear whether a crosstable had been paid for or not.

Rather than not send out some crosstables that had been paid for, we decided to send out any where the ‘send crosstable’ flag was set, even though that almost certainly meant sending out some crosstables that hadn’t been paid for.

We’re now all caught up and any crosstables ordered and paid for will be printed and mailed the first working day after the event is rated.

As you noted, the crosstables are available online within hours of when events are rated, so printed crosstables are now a bit archaic. However, some people still do order them, even when the rating report is submitted online.
