printable scoresheet

I thought at one time that there was a link to a printable notation sheet on the USCF website. I looked all over the new and old websites, including in the Members Only and TD/A areas. The most logical location for such a sheet would be under Resources → Forms on the homepage, but no luck there either.

Is the lack of a printable scoresheet on the USCF site a business decision perhaps? I know that the USCF store sells scoresheets, both for TDs and players. Unfortunately, it seems strange that you can print PDF or HTML scoresheets at other chess websites but not at the national federation.

There was one at one time, because I printed some off. But I don’t remember where it was located.

I just did a search on the old website area, if there was a scoresheet out there it wasn’t under an obvious file name, such as one with the word ‘score’ in it.

Try notation?

I also thought there was such a form because I have some printed out. And where I thought I would find it was under the site map, resources/forms. There are a lot of forms there. But its possible there was just a link to another site because when I looked closely on the form I saw small print to professorchess.com, and that has the form which I have printed off before. USCF should have a readily accessible form I would think. Here’s the link to the free download (hope I’m not violating any forum rules here).

Nothing under ‘notation’ either.

I can ask Bill Hall about this, but I think the scoresheets I saw in the bookstore at the US Open last year still had the New Windsor address and phone number on it, so we may have to have the editorial department create a new PDF before it could be posted.

Hi Mike:
I made one up in MS Word. E-mail me at ESchlich@verizon.net and I will send you a copy. I have also seen several available on the Internet by googling chess score sheet.
Regards, Ernie

Thanks everyone who responded. I found scoresheets with Google and then three people emailed me different versions. I still can’t fathom why the USCF doesn’t create and post a PDF form of a generic scoresheet. Ideally it would post both an adult scoresheet (50-60 moves per sheet) and a scholastic scoresheet (25-30 moves per sheet).

Michael, why not give the USCF a few working days before complaining that they haven’t done anything?

Sorry, I didn’t mean to imply that I was impatient with the USCF.

Wouldn’t it be easier just to scan one in and be done with it? (westernchess.com/hold/scoresheet1.gif)

Naaahhh…the heck with scans. I’ve got a good one you can use, and it’s set up as a two-sided, two-up for 8-1/2x11:

evanstonchess.org/docs/game_rec.pdf

Suitable for people like me who like wider line spacing. We have a little clipboards (purchased from Office max) that we use with these.

If someone from USCF asks me nicely, I’ll make a generic PDF they can post on the USCF site.

Creating this PDF (or multiple PDFs) has been added to the editorial department’s production calendar, but right now they’ve got several projects ahead of it (and multiple recurring deadlines like getting the next Chess Life done), so this may take a while.

I’m guessing they will do one with the USCF logo and such similar to the one that goes in the tournament booklets for the spring national scholastics (which are among the items ahead of this on their calendar), but if you want to volunteer, contact Daniel Lucas.

I have posted a scoresheet at

We use it at OleChess. It has a place for a logo, so feel free to remove or replace it.
