Process for acquiring National Arbiter

Hello,

I have been looking around, but could not find any specific resources about applying through the United States Chess Federation for the certification of FIDE National Arbiter. I vaguely recall that a Senior level certification is required to apply - can someone confirm this or point me to a place where I can find more information?

Thanks.

I don’t have the link st hand but one does have to be a US Senior TD or higher and pay the fee required by FIDE. Contact the office (after the Open this week) to make arrangements. An application has to be submitted to and confirmed by FIDE.

You also need to request and pass the NA test from US Chess before it will contact FIDE on your behalf.

The second question on the FAQ at uschess.org/images/stories/F … e_faqs.pdf addresses this.

Links to the FIDE FAQ page have been added to the TD Information page (uschess.org/content/blogcategory/208/771/).

Much appreciated, this FAQ is very useful.
