Rating Fee Question

I’m preparing the rating report for a tournament that concluded last Sat and I want to get it in the mail today. My problem is the rating fees are over $50 and I want to have ICC pay via credit-card.

Can I just include a note with the phone number to call so they can get the CC number? Or should I have the office call USCF today and pay in advance?

What’s the standard procedure in a case like this?

Thanks in advance.

Why aren’t you submitting it online, where you can pay by credit card and get the event rated within an hour of then, plus save 10% on your ratings fee?

There really is no ‘standard procedure’ for events submitted in the mail but paid by credit card, the office has to handle the charge manually anyway once the event has passed validation, which is the point at which the ratings fee is computed.

Why do we wait till then to do the charge? A large percentage of the events mailed to the office mis-compute the ratings fee.

Do whatever you’re comfortable with as far as who gets your CC info.

I have a new computer and did not have swiss-sys installed or set up. I’m doing that now.

I’m a little slow with it since it has been a while and I felt it would be easier to just go ahead and submit it on paper this time.

I got it installed today and downloaded a database and installed it. I’ll practice a bit and use it for the USAT Play-Offs later this month.

Mission accomplished!

The funny thing is my paper submission (tourn end date 3/10) and my on-line submission (tourn end date 3/24) were both rated today.

OK Mike, I’m a convert. The online submissions beats paper hands down.

Is ICC doing rated tournaments now?
