Greetings,
A couple of people noticed that I missed the update for the final week of the city championship. Well, bear in mind that I am in the smaller office.
Ok, I forgot, but nothing happened except that I destroyed the will of DuWayne Langseth so much so that he refuses to come back to the chess club.

However, DuWanye was nice enough to return for the tie breaker round between the youngster, the old timer, and the former champ to decide the city champion. See below.
I hosted some chess at Petrie’s Family games on Nov. 6 and got to see the new Superhero chess sets. Here are some pictures:

If you are having trouble deciding what to get me for Christmas, I like DC vs Marvel best.
Also, my real excuse about not updating the city championship, as quickly as some would like, is because I am running another website for my football hobby. I just added another 85 Bears video with Refrigerator Perry’s prime time debut. These video are the reason that I think all postmortems should have a sound track.

Peace be with you,

Paul,
Dan Avery won the CS Championship. He defeated Rhett in both
games, and Imre once. Rhett beat Imre in both games. The last
game between Dan and Imre wasn’t necessary, as Rhett couldn’t
catch Dan.
Imre played very well, achieving small advantages in nearly all
of his games, but the clock got him every time. He seemed to
fall into a trance in a couple games, and his clock ran 30 or 40
seconds to zero.
Rhett was winning in his first game against Dan, but he dropped
a rook. Dan dominated in the last game against Rhett with two
active bishops against Rhett’s undeveloped bishop and knight,
with the rooks still on.
I doubt we’ll be at the Club again any time soon, though Rhett
enjoyed it.
