Has anyone else experienced a recent failure of the TD/Affiliate program to send back the automatic emails to TDs when checking membership batches or tournaments to be submitted onine?
It looks like there was a network problem that started on Sunday, Nov 20th. It has been corrected.
Interesting that it took around 3 days for anyone to notice that they weren’t getting the emails from membership batches even though well over 100 membership batches were checked in the last few days.
I recall noticing it Sunday, I think, but assumed that it would have been “corrrected” by now.
It happened to me Monday night at about 9:30. It was just a batch of one that I was doing a renewal for one of our Senior members. I had started it last week and not gotten his birthdate. So at the club Monday night I tried to do it and it wouldn’t go through. When I got home it still wouldn’t work. So I made a new batch and reentered all the info. I still don’t think I got the email but the process now thing worked so I was good with it.
You’re assuming someone at the USCF office would notice. It was a network failure in a batch job that doesn’t generate email to staff. Since the office staff doesn’t do membership batches, they don’t see those emails to notice their absence.
Reporting problems HERE is not going to get as fast a response as sending an email, because staff does not monitor the forums for problem reports. In fact, it may not get any response at all.
Well it’s about 7:45 pm, and there’s no one in the office, and it seems to be recurring. I wonder if anyone else has been using the TD Affiliate area to process memberships and has not been receiving the email autoreplys?
According to USCF records, membership check emails were sent to your AOL address at 6:34 PM central time and at 6:45 PM, and a batch processing report was sent at 7:29 PM.
All of those timestamps are within a minute of when the emails were generated on our database server.
There is nothing in our logs to indicate that any of them were delayed in transit, but we have no way to trace what happens to email once it is accepted at AOL’s mail gateway.
