Very Happy Chess Player

Yep, I’m one very happy chess player… !!!

Can anybody guess why?

I don’t suppose it could be because I just responded to you in another thread. Nah. It was a nice thought, though.

Lol.

I was looking at the membership price hikes, and noticed the lifetime membership pricing going someplace north of Polaris. So I decided to jump on the bandwagon and get a lifetime membership before the deadline. I’d been contemplating it for while, it just spurred me to act sooner.

A very worthwell and timely purchase, that is depending, on how long you live. :open_mouth:

I always regetted not getting a lifetime membership when I was in the Army. Then I was in college, and lets just say as a college student, I could barely afford my *text books, let alone the extra cash for a lifetime membership. Then when your out of college, you suddenly have a whole new set of expenses to worry about.

Now that I’m settled, and can actually afford it, I wasn’t going to let this last opportunity go by. I’m sure I’d eventually get a lifetime membership at the new rate, but that might have shifted it for another couple years, not to mention I’d be beating myself of the head for not getting it at the lower rate. I wouldn’t call myself a penny pincher, but definately the type of person that likes to shop around and get the best deal.

I can see why the USCF says the average person to get a lifetime membership is in thier 40’s. When your in your twenties to late thirties, you have way more things to worry about when it comes to money.

*one semester, I actually had to hawk my only computer to help pay for tuition. :stuck_out_tongue:

Where is the list of new membership rates? I looked for it but could not find it.
I’m glad I got my life membership when I did (at the 850 rate.)

These would be unnofficial, and only for the K-12 players that play in our local events, but here is what I have compiled. I believe these are accurate as of December 1. I believe these should be reflected effective tomorrow on the Affiliates membership pages. This is just what I have put together from what I have gathered.

Premium Young Adult ages 16-24 $32
Regular Young Adult (online Chess Life only) ages 16-24 $24

Premium Youth ages 13-15 $27
Regular Youth (online Chess Life only) ages 13-15 $20

Premium Scholastic ages 12 and under $23
Regular Scholastic (online Chess Life for Kids only) ages 12 and under $16

The complete list of dues rates is in the news section at the bottom of the page on the TD/Affiliate Support Area, secure.uschess.org/TD_Affil

I was using the post by Nolan as a guide.
