Why are DGT Boards So Expensive In The US?

Significantly less expensive in Europe. For example:
Blue tooth from HoS with 10% discount $990.00
USB from HoS with 10% discount $792.00
USB from Wholesale Chess no discount $850.00

Blue Tooth from New In Chess w/shipping $748.00
USB from New In Chess w/shipping $582.00

Is there any reason to believe there is greater demand in Europe?

Don’t know. Given the shrinking of the world with international orders, I would think that HoS and Wholesale Chess would think about being competitive. I would rather buy it from HoS. I will drop them an email and show them the New In Chess price with shipping and see if they’ll reduce their price. Only down side is they have the usb model in Walnut and I’d like a slightly darker square. Stay tuned.

Amazon UK has the Walnut board for 629.00 at the current conversion rate. However, they don’t ship to the US.

Received a nice reply back from HoS. The cost for them is higher because of the middleman distributor here in the US. The price at NIC is about what it costs HoS from DGT North America.
