The 6th North American FIDE Invitational (the last one for this calendar year) is all set! Below are the details:

Dates: Oct 28 - Nov 3, 2007
Format: 9R - RR
Time Control: G/90 + 30/sec increment
Schedule:

Rd 1 - Sun Oct 28 @ 10:30am
Rd 2 - Sun Oct 28 @ 4pm
Rd 3 thru 7 - Mon thru Fri, Oct 29-Nov 2 @ 6:30pm
Rd 8 - Sat Nov 3 @ 10:30am
Rd 9 - Sat Nov 3 @ 4pm

Norms: 6.5/9 for IM norm, 6/9 for WGM norm.

Piece of Information: For those asking what happened in the Robson-Young game - Young was forfeited due to his cell phone alarm ringing. All players were notified during the announcements of Round 1 to ensure that their cell phones were completely turned off or completely set to vibrate.

FM Ray Robson has scored his first IM norm with a stunning victory over tournament leader IM David Vigorito.
