The old system allowed a TD to update a players address in US Chess records. Does the new system allow this?
No, and privacy concerns are part of the reason why. Also, members can register for access to the Drupal-based system from the home page and make those changes themselves, something that the old system did not support.
Thanks Mike.
On this page, secure2.uschess.org/TD_Affil/whatnext.php, the following should be updated:
“If there are players in your event for whom US Chess does not have a valid mailing address, birthdate, sex coding (M/F) or an email address, a list of these players will appear at the end of the validation report. Having this demographic information helps produce more accurate ratings and helps both US Chess and its affiliates promote chess in the USA. Much of this information comes to US Chess through TDs.”
“You can enter missing demographic information using a maintenance batch (use the ‘Address Change’ code) or email the missing information to the US Chess office.”
Updating it might not happen immediately, my time is limited due to some personal matters.
