Hello, does anyone have a recommendation for purchase of an analysis set? I was looking at the Marshall series set on uscfsales.com and also one sold by ChessCentral on Amazon:
Thanks in advance. (if this isn’t too general a question)

I have 2 of the Marshall plastic analysis sets and they are great. They are weighted and balanced nicely.
They also have wood analysis sets for sale, but they are pricier.
I would watch out for other analysis sets as they mostly are unweighted and sometimes even hollow. The price range will tell you of that. The plastic Marshall set costs around $15. The ones that are under $8 usually are not weighted. You do get what you pay for in this.
Thank you, Ron. I believe you. I may just go ahead with a Marshall set then. The things you mention (weighting specifically) were exactly what I was wondering about.
Thanks again.
Also, I suggest you get the Natural and not the Ivory for the light pieces. The first set I bought had the Ivory and those didn’t look as nice as the Natural ones I got with the second set, so much that I bought an extra half set of Natural pieces for that first set. The problem, I think, is the Ivory is so white that the black of the weights shows through making the pieces look dirty.
I think I know what you refer to, Ron. The club set I have seems to have the same problem with the ivory pieces. It was making me think I was losing it. lol
