When I downloaded the file all that was in the zipped file was GD0904.DBF. Isn’t the file supposed to be TARATSUP.DBF? Has it been renamed?
It looks like Phil just named the file wrong when building the ZIP file. The size looks about right, try changing the file name to TARATSUP.DBF and see if it processes OK.
I’ve left a message for Phil.
I renamed the file and it seemed to work ok.
Phil has recreated the ZIP files and reposted them, so the April Golden Master files should have the same name as in the past now.
Perhaps it’s time to start freeing ourselves from the conventions established by TNTMADM?
Well, since WinTD expects to find that file name, and I believe it’s also the default name for Swis-Sys, how would you propose changing it?
-
Select a naming convention that makes sense.
-
Set an implementation date far enough into the future that 3rd party software can be updated.
-
Announce the new naming convention and date.
-
Implement it, including updating instructions.
Oh wait, was that a rhetorical question?
Why? Because some computer gurus find it aesthetically pleasing? Extended file names are for wimps.
We still have people using versions of Swis-Sys that were released prior to 1996, how’s 2025 for an effective implementation date of the new naming convention?
They can always rename the files before feeding them to their old code.
