Chess History for the Pacific Northwest

Several people in Washington and Oregon have started a major project. The project is to scan ALL the issues of WASHINGTON CHESS LETTER, NORTHWEST CHESS LETTER and NORTHWEST CHESS magazines into PDF files. The publication started in 1947 and has been published monthly ever since. Issues run in size from 2 pages to 40 pages. The paper on which some issues were printed is starting to fade. This project will take several years to complete.

You’re right, that’s a major project! Sounds great, though.

I would be curious to see some of the games of Uncle Vik. Especially in his favorite Latvian Gambit. Good luck with your efforts.

Great project! Put it on DVD and sell them as a source of funds.
