eBay Giving Works Chess Books Auction

If you have a chess 501(c)(3) organization, I strongly recommend eBay Giving Works as an effective way to donate.

Giving Works is also a great way to shop for beginner’s chess books: proceeds typically go to deserving local charities such as Goodwill. (However, note that not all auctions donate 100% of proceeds to charity; look before you bid.)

With that intro, here are a few items currently for sale on eBay Giving Works. 100% of the proceeds are earmarked for the Illinois Chess Association’s Warren Junior Program. Giving Works acts as the escrow agent, so you know the cash will go to the intended purpose.

Collins, My Seven Chess Prodigies

Brady, Endgame

Donner, The King

Suba, The Hedgehog I owe two tournament wins to this book!

Emms et al., Dangerous Weapons: 1.e4 e5

Staunton, The Chess Player’s Handbook (1870 edition)

Bid early, bid often! And consider some charitable auctions of your own…

Thanks for bidding and buying! The Staunton auction is still open for another hour.

I’ll put some more books up in the near future…and if you put some up for your favorite chess charitable org, I’m likely to be among the bidders.

$133.06 raised for the Illinois Chess Association’s Warren Junior Program. Thank you!

I’ll start Round 2 this weekend.
