Favorite Ways To Beat The Kings Indian Defense

WANTED: Your favorite ways to beat the King’s Indian Defense as white

I have to play Jeff Fox, the KID guru, for the club championship. Any study aids would be greatly appreciated.

Here are the details:

Greetings,

After seeing my ace reporter’s win over Buck, I was glad we didn’t meet in the third round. Here is Dean Brown’s report on the CSCC Championship:

"Dean William Brown directed Round 3 of the Colorado Springs Chess Club. Results: Paul Anderson(3) beat Dan Avery(2); Dean Brown(2) beat Richard Buchanan(1) ; Jeff Fox(2) beat Peter Swan(1); house-player Alex Torres(1) beat Paul Covington(0); Imre Barlay(0), ill, did not play this round. Round 4, the final round, will be played next Tuesday night.

Championship final round pairings: Anderson (W)- Fox (B); Avery (W) - Buchanan (B); the two other pairings will depend on whether Barlay or Torres plays the final round. If Fox, Avery, and Brown win their final game, a 4-way tie-break procedure will begin to choose the CSCC 2010 Champion. I know of at least 3 people who are pulling for Jeff Fox to beat Paul Anderson in the final round.

If Fox, Avery, Brown all lose their final round game, Paul Anderson will win the club Championship by 2 pts!"

Here is Dean’s triumph (click on the link for a chess board to play through the game):

Anything with an early g4 is a good try.

Bill Smythe

Many thanks! g4 was indeed the killer move.

Although, it was the modern and not the king’s indian.
