Irina Krush in Europe:More press Exposure!?

I don’t quite understand why more isn’t said in this on-line magazine about her play in this last month or so where she has played very well in several tournaments. And what’s more encouraging is she has started off strongly at the İş Bankası - Atatürk International Women Masters Chess Tournament by beating GM Zhu Chen (100 some points above Irina’s rating).

I think it’s wonderful what Gata has accomplised and the support that is being requested to help him on his road to World Champion. But I also think supporting our highest rated, active women player should be stated more. Susan Polgar has been hard a working with the women in the US to become stronger and more of a force for some time and this is a good example (and the undoubted hard work put in by Irina). So I would think the Chess Life On-Line should be a bit more ‘vocal’ in support of her. And give out some information on who is with her giving her support and etc.

Hopefully, Ms. Krush will continue to play well in this tournament, and get the publicity she deserves. It’s early in the tourney, though, she is 1-0-3, and the victory is over Chen, who has dropped 4 games in a row. Let’s hope Irina finishes at or near the top.
