Last night I took a bye during the tournament I directed and did some housekeeping. First I entered a new membership and paid for it on line. Once I had the USCF ID#, I uploaded a recent tournament that contained games with that new member. The upload passed validation. BUT when I check MSA, the new member cannot be found in the database and the MSA crosstable (uschess.org/msa/XtblMain.php … 1-12514379) has the following line for the new member:
8 | [Error-unknown] |1.0 |D 7|D 6|L 5|L 4|
NV | 13206605 / Q: Unrated->1420P4 | | | | | |
What gives? Is it because I rated it too soon after the new membership was done? Do I need to do anything to try and fix this?
Because the member database and the crosstables on the public website are updated at different times, it is possible that a member may not be in the member database ON THE PUBLIC WEBSITE if looking at a VERY RECENTLY rated event. Usually that problem goes away within a few hours at the next update pass for the member database.
Looks like it’s OK now.
We had a minor database problem last night that may have affected some of the tranfers to the MSA site. I restarted the database server this morning to make sure it was running properly, but some of the overnight jobs or early morning jobs might not have run.
Because there was a period of several hours where it was probably not possible to use the USCF TD/Affiliate Support Area, I’ve changed when I will be starting the August supplement run (including a rerate) from 6PM today to 11PM today.
