US Chess and the TDCC have posted new TD Certification rules to reflect TD experience with online chess at: http://www.uschess.org/docs/forms/certification-rules-2020.pdf Or, at (https://new.uschess.org/sites/default/files/media/documents/certification-rules-2020.pdf).
Note that now on-line-rated tournaments can be used for some of the substitutable prerequisites when trying to test for certification.
For activity requirements (for certification renewal) there was no change and on-line-rated events can continue to be used for meeting them.
I understand the preference for IRL tournaments. I believe you are giving them the short end of the stick. It’s going to a long time before a large IRL event is run even with a vaccine.
I believe the CCA events on ICC should qualify for full credit as experience requirements. I am working with other TD’s who have backroom experience.
I understand the pairing rules have applied them and have overruled them when needed, among other things.
I am a retired CPA and IT chief. I have all the high level certifications. I understand what it means to be a senior TD. You know the rules; you know the rationale for them; you know when to bend them or "break " and defend it.
What does IRL stand for?
