New York Times Article on 2009 Super Nationals

OK, the moderators may want to move this as a transition to a new topic, but I’ll brag for a moment:

Today’s NY Times, page A10 (in the edition here in Nashville): A picture of Greg Chamitoff with the Stevenson Elementary team at Supernationals, and a full article.

Somebody with more time (I have to check out) and objectivity (I coordinated the game and the article) should post something appropriate somewhere, and make sure chess gets noticed the right way here.

I thought it was well done. NASA is looking for bright kids to study math, science and engineering. Where better to look than in the USCF? This is the positive chess promotion that is easy to overlook. Some kid may drop out of chess for a while to solve the Fermi paradox or build their own PicoSat.
