A weird ratings issue was just pointed out to me for:
12760178: JOEL MACKLER
On the MSA:
2005-04 805 825
But in the April download and in the paper supplement he’s listed at 1400. Did something go on with a rerate that was later corrected?

We caught and corrected about two dozen cases of mis-applied floors while preparing the April Supplement.
This was probably one that Walter caught afterwards.

Why is his pre-rating stuck at 1150P2? And what’s up with the 0 => 0?
TIA,
Zug
I assume the 0 => 0 is an event in which that person’s ID was corrected after the event was rated. However, it is before the point at which we do a bulk rerate, so that event will never be rerated.
Right now we don’t have a mechanism in place to insert ratings information, I’m not sure what we should do there, either.
One possibility would be to do a rerate of just that section and only change the rating for that one player. I’m not sure if that improves the situation or just complicates it, though. For an infrequent player, that could turn out to be his most recent event, in which case it would be used if/when he next plays, but for a player who already has a more recent event the inserted/rerated one would just produce a discontinuity in the ratings flow. That means we would probably have to flag it as such or we might get a flood of message like this thread.
