We’re going to test out a State Correspondence Championship this year. Anyone know how I would go about having it USCF correspondence rated or if that was possible?
Contact Joan Dubois at the USCF office, jdubois@uschess.org.
We rate correspondence matches, I don’t see any reason we couldn’t rate this event. The mechanics might take some time to work out, but it’ll take a while for the event to have any games that are ready to be rated, anyway.
Better to talk to Alex Dunne chesskinetics@stny.rr.com. That’s who my contact was when I organized the 2009 and 2010 Colorado Correspondence Championships. It costs $1/player/game for email or postal games, and $2/player/game if played on webserver. We used email last year but decided to use webserver this year. Despite the extra cost, we’ve gone from nine participants in '09 to fourteen in '10.

Actually, you probably need to copy both Alex and Joan. Alex handles administering correspondence games (dealing with time claims, posting the results, etc) but Joan handles business-related issues, like how much the USCF charges.
i guess i need to ask them if we wish to play it on a totally different server…
