I tried the online system several times to upload my event. Each time I selected the files to upload filled in the form and then tried to upload I got an error that said the page could not be displyed. Is the tournament submission system down?

That depends on the browser. Firefox has it under Tools → Options → Privacy → Cache
IE has it under Tools → Internet Options → Delete Files
Sometimes I have problems using Explorer so I copy the files to my mac and run it through Safari and it works fine. Make sure the three files are not in some sort of folder. In IE it has trouble with path names such as c:\swiss\events\
File or directory names with spaces in them are known to cause problems with some browsers, notably IE. (I haven’t tried IE7 yet, has anyone used it to upload rating report files?)
Chris told me via email that after he cleared out cache and cookies and rebooted his computer that it uploaded his event with no further problems.

Unfortunately, the tnmtadmt fields are formatted so that leading and trailing spaces are important. If you open any of the 3 files, thexport, tsexport, or tdexport with Excel to look at them and save the file, Excel often changes the files by adding or losing spaces and possibly changing the field type.
Chris, try re-exporting the files from your pairing program and upload them without looking at them. Should hopefully work. If you use a database program such as DBF or Access, it should preserve the field type and spacing.

Paradox also appears to correctly preserve the dbf format files. I’ve occasionally fixed a date or spelling of tournament and section names without any problem.
I’ve uploaded memberships and tournament files using IE 7. I’m not having the problems I had with 6. I don’t keep them in a folder since I still don’t trust hall it’s going handle pathnames.
