Who should I contact if an event that occurred back in mid-January, rated scholastic with several hundred students in attendance has yet to be sent in to the USCF for rating purposes? I sent in one e-mail to USCF without a response. The response from our state organization is that it has been submitted but rejected by the USCF for some not mentioned reason. The largest rated scholastic event in Georgia in 2005 and yet we are approaching 4 months without a valid USCF entry. Whom could I contact to get a more official USCF response? What action should be taken? All the more problematic when the students see our local tournaments entered and online in less than a day!
Thanks for any guidance by experienced TD’s in the direction I should take.
Sincerely,
Rodney Thurman

It sounds like this is an event that has been kicking around for a while.
If the event has been submitted and returned to the TD, that’s something Walter should be able to help track down and hopefully resolve. The USCF is being a bit firmer on enforcing rules regarding submissions from current affiliates and current certified TDs. (And you would not believe some of the stuff that gets turned in as a ‘rating report’!)
If the event was never submitted (not all TDs tell the truth about that, unfortunately), the USCF can put pressure on the TD and/or Affiliate to submit the event, which could ultimately result in the TD’s certification being suspended and the Affiliate being suspended from advertising or submitting events for rating. Steps like that arent necessarily going to help get this particular event submitted and rated, though.
Under the new ratings system, the affiliate and the chief TD can access the latest validation report through the TD/Affiliate Support Area, even for events that were mailed to the USCF office.
